April 24, 2014 Jack Molloy This is a drawing of the model Auguste Rodin used for his 1904 sculpture ‘The Thinker’. Apparently Mr. Rodin spotted this fellow sitting on a stump in a wooded area near his Paris studio. The man was contemplating cutting down another tree when found by Auguste. He asked the tree cutter if he’d model for ‘The Gates of Hell’ which was currently in the works. Drawn for an article entitled ‘Six Thoughts on (Passover)’, Shalom Scripture Studies, Inc.
