Nick Lu Nick grew up in China and the US. Having grown up in both places by the sea, he often subconsciously uses water in his professional and personal work as a metaphor. Nick started his artistic career after doodling wildly on his parents’ pearly white walls. Nick graduated from Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, California, where he still resides and works as an illustrator. He can be found on the soccer field or in used bookstores when he’s not working. His illustrations have been selected for annuals such as American Illustration, Society of Illustrators, and 3 x 3. He was also profiled by Communication Arts magazine for the Fresh section. In 2016, he was included in Lurzer’s Archive’s 200 best illustrators worldwide. His first illustrated book, Why LA? Pourquoi Paris? came out in 2014. Nick illustrated more than 120 illustrations on various Los Angeles and Paris topics.
